★★★★ ½ This book had so many things against my enjoying it. Three big ones: I don't like books about the Civil War, I don't have a thing for doctors, and I don't like guys who are engaged to someone else. However, Yankee physician, Adam McClain, is yummy. I just loved “Southern Belle” Nichole too. It dragged a smidge when they first get together again after the war, but it made up for it later.Ms. Thomas manages to change my mind; not an easy feat. I think I have a crush on all the heroes she writes about. Should I let her know, or will she fill out a restraining order for stalking?
